I made the unfortunate choice of changing from the T-Mobile BlackBerry service to Vodafone recently and I can honestly say it's a decision I came to regret. Here are some of the reasons not to move:
-
Customer Service, or lack of it
On receiving my phone I found I couldn't setup Vodafone Business Email. There was a problem with Sony Ericsson phones not working with Vodafone Business Email and I was given a date 3 weeks later that it would be rectified. Little regard was given for the fact that it's an important service for me and their handling of the issue was not the kind of service I'd expect as a business customer.
-
Manual Required
Vodafone supply no instructions as to how to setup your Vodafone Business Email account. Not a jot. Normally that's not a problem for me but it was such a convoluted process to get setup receiving emails on the phone that it would have been nice - just a few hints as to what to do is all I'm asking. Setting up your email on T-Mobile is in contrast child's play.

'Wait around' email
Conducting my first test of the Vodafone Business Email I was found waiting for 15 minutes before the email I'd sent from my desktop eventually arrived at my phone. Not quite the "instant email" I was promised nor anywhere near the level of service T-Mobile provides which is more like 15 seconds. I did phone Vodafone customer service to check I hadn't missed a setting or something but no, 15 minutes is the best they can do. Apparently their BlackBerry service is as snail-like.
Thankfully it was on this last point that I had good grounds to cancel my contract without charge. I've now safely returned to T-Mobile never ever to return to Vodafone again.
